WHY GOPACS?
GOPACS is an initiative of the Dutch grid operators:
The energy transition and economic growth require an electricity grid with more capacity. The Dutch grid operators are working hard on increasing this electricity grid capacity to be able to meet the growing demand. However, this cannot be realised overnight.
Making use of flexibility from the market can contribute to solving (expected) congestion in the electricity grid.
This is why Dutch grid operators collectively started GOPACS. GOPACS aims to mitigate congestion in the grid in an efficient way. The collaboration between all the grid operators also prevents an action performed by one grid operator from aggravating another grid operator’s problem.
