What is Balancing Maintenance?
As the national grid operator for electricity (TSO), TenneT is responsible for continuously balancing supply and demand for electricity on the Dutch grid.
If this balance is disrupted, it can lead to a power outage or even a blackout, depending on the duration and severity of the imbalance.
To guarantee a continuous supply of electricity, the supply and demand of electricity must be kept in balance 24/7. We call this balance maintenance.
