What is market based congestion management?
Market-based congestion management is voluntarily agreed arrangements between the grid operator(s) and market parties and/or connected parties on temporarily reducing transmission capacity to reduce congestion in the electricity grid.
It includes the following 4 products:
- Redispatch on the basis of free bids
- Obligation to bid contract
- Capacity-reducing contract with call
- Capacity limiting contract without call
